How I Painted the Geminids of Uhl-Gysh .

Greetings and salutations fellow hobbyist!

Here is a guide how I painted the Geminids of Uhl-Gysh.

Step 1.

After coated them with Corax White, I used the texture tool to apply Blackfire Earth, a generous wash of Agrax Earthshade, after that was dry, a light drybrush of Tau Light Orche and then a lighter drybrush of Zamesi Destert.

Step 2.

I painted the ball with Leadbelcher, followed with 2 coats of Ironbreaker. You can either Coelia Greenshade or Runefang Steel first. I opted for Runefang first and then Coelia Greenshade. I painted the raised areas with Runefang Steel while leaving the recesses. There are some higher raises that I painted with Stormhost Silver to make it stand out a bit more than Runefang Steel.

Step 3.

For the lighting I chose blue and purple. I started with the Hexed Lichen, then Royal Purple, washed this with Blue Ink, then I used a brush with a very fine tip (Kolinsky Masterclass from The Army Painter) to apply Dark Blue then Stormy Blue.

Do note the Vallejo colours can be quite thin, so be careful when applying these, you do not want them running all over the green-ish metal.

I drybrushed the raised parts with Ahriman Blue and decided on adding Ulthuan Grey with the Kolinsky Masterclass to have more contrasts between the lighting and ball.

Step 4.

I added some skulls to the models and totally forgot to take pictures of the paint / brushes.

I started with two coats of Zandri Dust, followed with 3 thin coats of Ushabti Bone, a wash of Agrax Earthshade. Two more coats of Ushabti Bone for the raised areas and finally Screaming Skull for the highlight.

I used some Wilderness Tuft from The Army Painter and used super glue to stick it to the base.

Here is a picture of the finished model.

Remember that experience is the only thing that can not be taught.
